Common Finger Injuries

The Finger Joints

Most of us take our fingers for granted. But stop and think of how totally dependent we are on our fingers for so many normal activities. Osteoarthritis, also called wear-and-tear arthritis, is usually the condition which causes the cartilage on finger joint surfaces to slowly wear away and expose bare bone.  At first, this may cause some minor discomfort. But when the joint can no longer compensate for the increased damage, that's when pain, stiffness and deformity become more noticeable.
